It is already April and we wonder how fast time flies. Quite often, we tend to keep doing the same things over and over – work, home, weekend routine and feel bored.
Here are 7 things you can do to boost your creativity:
- Do something you love
When you were young, did you have a favourite hobby – singing, sports, playing an instrument, baking? Whatever it was, go back to it and take up classes, if needed. If not, sign up for a class that you’ve always wanted to take. Make sure you spend regular time doing something you love.
- Exercise
Exercise is a sure way of boosting your creativity. When we’re physically active, the body loosens up and our mind feels fresh. So, it’s easier to come up with solutions to problems.
- Get some sleep
Sometimes we are so stressed from our everyday life and don’t give our body enough rest. If you are trying to solve something and finding it hard, leave the decision till the next day. A good night’s sleep will help. During the day, even a mini nap can help you feel rested and get back into focus.
- Watch your favourite funny video
When you feel low, there is nothing better than being able to laugh out loud. It could even be a short five minute video of something you love. LOL and see how that makes you feel better.
- Write down your thoughts
Have a diary with you at all times. When you find a thought that annoys you, write it down. Who knows, you may come up with a creative answer.
- Learn to relax
Don’t take everything personally. If you find yourself reactive, know that there is another way to be. People just express their views, just like you would have. Always take time to process information in a neutral manner and choose not to respond, if you don’t want to!
- Practice meditation
Meditation calms your mind and silences the thoughts that constantly play in your head. By using any of the meditation techniques, you gain inner calm while opening your mind to creative thoughts.
Try any of these and see if it will help you be inspired.
