What does success mean to you? 👊

Success is very personal.

But most of us make success all about others. How so, I hear you ask. Let me explain.

Let’s say your friend and you bought a house almost at the same time. A few years later, they have now upgraded their house to a two-storey brand new build, customised to their liking. Ever since your friend mentioned this to you, your mind starts thinking – ‘how did they do it? They bought a house at the same time as ours and now they’ve upgraded. How is it possible?’

When we look at someone’s life – in this instance an upgraded house they live in, a bigger, better version, quite often we want to upgrade too. If someone has bought a new car, we want to upgrade ours too. And the list goes on.

We think success is what another person (often our friends) has achieved. But is it true?

What about our own journeys? Does it not have any merit at all?

What was your situation 5 years ago, 10 years ago and how far have you come?

So, let’s reframe what success can be, for each of us.

Success

– takes into account your past and present (old beliefs, actions taken and current situation)

– can be defined differently at different times, if that’s what you truly want

– comes to those who are prepared to visualise and work towards their goals

The biggest thing is to know your goals – so clearly and deeply, so you can take the first action step towards it. This can either be easy (if you’ve done it before and know ‘how-to’) or hard (if you’ve set goals before and not been able to achieve them).

For many of us, goals are things we have tried in the past and it didn’t work, so why bother?

What if I told you that there is a special way to set goals, that can help you achieve your dreams? Would you be interested?

I will be doing a 3-hour workshop on goal setting in early December. This is a tried and tested method (for the goal-setting, not the action-taking part) that I have even taught my children.

If you would like to be part of it, please register your interest here.

Otherwise, think about what success means to you and how you can achieve it. If you can get some clarity by the end of this year, you are on track to start 2024 with a bang.
